Maureen Janssens, is a abstract, expressive, self taught Canadian artist who has lived deep in the rural areas of British Columbia, the Yukon, Ontario and now the Foothills of Southern Alberta. Maureen’s impressionistic paintings are expressed onto canvas through intuition and inspiration, which she derives from the organic essence of our natural environment. With brush in hand she playfully instills vibrant colour and dynamic composition creating her own dreamscapes.
Maureen is drawn to the extraordinary landscapes, wildly dancing skies, towering mountains, rippling creeks and prairie vistas…so full of life, colour and spirit! Maureen shifts our perspective of nature using bold brushstrokes rich with colour and texture while conjuring up the innocence and beauty of the world we live in!
